Tip on Packing for a Camping/Hunting trip

How to Pack Clothes for Camping

October 11, 2011

One key to staying comfortable when camping is to be as organized as possible.  We’ve got four boys, so disorder comes pretty easily.  I’ve found that if we can build order in when we pack, it really helps things go smoothly by the time we are in the woods.  Here is how we pack our clothes:

1) Pack a complete set of clothes for each person, for each day. Be sure to pack some extra socks in case your feet get wet.

10 things NOT to do while camping

No matter how seasoned a camper you are, every new outdoor excursion is bound to leave you feeling somewhat inadequate. Nothing to be ashamed of, it's just the way it works. Whether it's an item forgotten, a uncomfortably placed tent, or an unfortunate selection of companions, there will always be something to add to the check list... or maybe scratch off.

How to tie Knots

Welcome to Scouting Knots

These animated knots are described for scouts, but most of them have critical uses in other environments. Select the knots from: the index above left; the pictures above; or the Scouting Requirements page which provides details of the knots expected for advancement and different activities.

The Smore Box

When we went on our road trip this summer we stopped at a KOA in the Redwood Forest.  While there we of course made smores.  The problem was how dirty we got even though we tried so hard not to.  Well Ladies and Gentlemen the problem is now solved.  Make a smore box so it is easy to assemble your goodies.  Although we do this for camping, I think you could also use this idea for back yard bbq's, or Summer Parties around your fire pit.  Maybe even for Family Fun Night.

I just love how a picture can inspire me.
