Peaches and prosciutto Grilled Cheese or Panini
1/4 cup olive or canola oil
8 slices sourdough bread
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American [2]
1 to 2 medium (1 1/4 cups) fresh peaches, thinly sliced*
3 ounces (about 6 slices)
Directions
Heat gas grill to medium-high or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. Brush 1 side of each bread slice with oil.
Assemble each sandwich by layering 1 slice bread, oil-side down with 1 slice cheese, 1/4 peach slices, 1/4 prosciutto and 1 slice cheese. Top with 1 slice bread, oil-side up.
Place sandwiches onto grill. Grill, turning once, 4-8 minutes or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted. Serve immediately.
*Substitute frozen peaches, thawed, patted dry, thinly sliced or 1/4 cup peach preserves.
**Substitute thinly sliced deli ham.
Recipe Tip
To cook sandwiches on stovetop, heat skillet or griddle to medium. Cook sandwiches, turning once, 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. To Make a lot at one use this trick I found on Pinterest. Sorry No link.
Prepare your grilled cheese sandwiches as usual (buttered on both sides) Put sandwiches between two baking sheets. Bake 350° for 15-20 minutes.
