Italian Grilled Cheese

8 slices Italian bread
5 tablespoons Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
8 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes® Deli American
12 to 16 basil leaves, if desired
4 ounces sliced deli salami
1/2 cup roasted red pepper strips
1/3 cup mild banana pepper rings


Spread 1 side of each bread slice with about 2 teaspoons butter.

Layer 1 slice bread, buttered-side down, with 1 slice cheese, 3 to 4 basil leaves, 1/4 salami, 1/4 roasted red pepper strips, 1/4 banana pepper rings and 1 slice cheese. Top with 1 slice bread, buttered-side up.

Heat 12-inch skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place 2 sandwiches into skillet; cook, turning once, 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted. Repeat with remaining sandwiches.

Prepare your grilled cheese sandwiches as usual (buttered on both sides) Put sandwiches between two baking sheets. Bake 350° for 15-20 minutes.
