Wrinkle Release Spray

As the mothers of two young boys each, we do a lot of laundry. A LOT. But let's face it, it doesn't always get immediately whisked out of the dryer, folded/hung up, and put away. And this means wrinkled clothes. And ironing? Please.... The iron pretty much only comes out when we need it for a craft project.

We've been seeing commercials lately for Downy Wrinkle Releaser, and while it looks pretty cool we'll admit that we are too cheap to actually buy it. So, true to form, we searched around and found a recipe so that we could make our own!

What you need:

  • 1/3 cup liquid fabric softener (we bought the cheapest we could find)
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1/3 cup water

Mix your three ingredients and pour them into a spray bottle. Then take your wrinkled garment, place it on a hanger, spray it thoroughly (though not soaking), and give it a shake. The wrinkles will be gone in a matter of seconds! It is seriously like magic!!

Here is a picture of a shirt before:

And here is one after we used the wrinkle release spray:
We purposely used a dark-colored shirt to make sure it didn't effect the color.

Maggie has dubbed it a miracle in a bottle. It works great and smells terrific! Finally! An excuse not to iron!
