Living with boys as we do, we know the messes they can make. We often marvel at the creative ways the guys in our lives make these messes. We also marvel at how in the world we will get some of these messes cleaned up! But often the miracle product Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and others like it have made cleaning some of the toughest messes (like magic marker on the computer keyboard) a breeze. It really does work like magic!
i’m about to get hippie on you all. plugin air fresheners (and tons of other stuff) have something called VOC in them. VOC stands for “volatile organic compounds” and they are highly toxic. they are chemicals with a low boiling point.
VOC cause all sorts of problems in your body: infertility (some of you may like that!), headaches, nervous system disorders, memory loss and cancer for both your pet and you…. lots of things.
Part of my job being a SAHM is to save as much money as possible for my family. I do this using many different methods. One of these methods is participating in pinterest. It really is not very hard at all, and there are tons of websites to help or you can check out cookbooks for baby food at the local library. To make baby food you can microwave-steam or steam on the stove veggies or fruit until soft, and then mashed it up (in a food processor when baby first started eating solids). Put the food into ice cube trays. Once solid, pop out the food and put them into freezer bags. Simple.

I make my own grocery bags and have been doing it for years. I give them as gifts and usually make mine out of left over material or a sheet. I took a Target plastic grocery bag and cut it in half to make a pattern because I think Target has the best size available. But, for the rest of the world who would like to know how to do it right, here is an awesome tutorial. I also make these bags for children and their belongings. Gabe has one in the car full of things to entertain him. Enjoy!

We all like to entertain and have our friends over to our homes from time to time. However, everyone is really feeling the ramifications of the economy. I would like to suggest to you throw a Pot Luck dinner and Game Night with your friends. Not only does it cost little, but it also is fun evening. Every one like to bring something over anyway. The last time we did this our stomaches hurt! Not only from all of the great food but from the laughter as well.

Today I would like to discuss with you the importance of stocking up on sales. If you are on the envelope system you might think it is impossible for you to stock up, but that is were you thinking is a little flawed. Let me explain. If you have a budget of $100.00 each week for grocery shopping, and you only spend 75$ that week, save the other $25 for your stock up envelop.
The easiest way to save a lot of money is this: SAY NO!
Say no to the coffee with friends at the Starbucks across the street. Have coffee at home instead.
Say no to the thirteen extra curricular activities your children want to do. Limit it to one, then you can actually eat dinner together as a family.
Say no to fast food for lunch each day, and pack a lunch instead. Maybe leftovers from last nights dinner?
