Make your own face paint
Get a few small containers like baby food jars to store the paints. Place one teaspoon cornstarch (or baby powder), half a teaspoon of cold cream and half teaspoon water in each container and mix well until blended. Add a drop of food colouring one at a time until you get the desired colour for each jar.
It’s definitely recommended to start with the primary colours – red, blue and yellow – as you can mix these together later if you need green, purple or orange. But you will also want a jar of white (just leave the mix on its own without food colouring) and black.
Crafting with Angry Birds
My son who is three loves angry birds. So when I came across this post on make and takes blog I was super excited.
Supplies for Angry Bird Poms:
Franks Nuts & Bolts
- 1 cupdark chocolate frosting
- 1/4cupvanilla frosting
- 12 wafer cones
- 24 brown candies (like M & M's minis)
- 1 cupthin pretzel sticks, salted peanuts, O's cereal (like Cheerios), cheese crackers, oyster crackers, or other crunchy snacks
Organize your childs art work
Scan your kids' artwork into a book so you don't have to keep 1,000 pieces of paper forever. I love this especially as they get older--brilliant idea!! Another idea would be to scan all of your childrens artwork and make a poster from walmart.
How To: Make a Mini-Marshmallow Popper or pom pom popper
Total time: 10 minutes
Knot the end of the balloon, then snip off 1⁄2 inch from the top.
Repurpose Cardboard Boxes into Kid Crafts/Toys!
Put together this smart cardboard shape sorter to help your toddler learn shapes and sizes.
Boo-Nilla Shake
To decorate the cups
For 12 faces, place 1/3 cup (2 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high until melted, 1 to 1 1/2 minutes; stir. Using a small brush, paint chocolate inside glasses (if it hardens too soon, microwave 20 seconds more). Let set a few minutes before adding shake. Prepare glasses up to a day ahead, but don't fill until ready to serve.
Dice Solution
Sometimes it drives me crazy when the kids roll their two dice and they fly to opposite sides of the room... and Sometimes it drives me crazy with how loud the dice can be.
Solution: Roll the dice in a tupperware type container. It really has enough room for the dice to roll.
I saw this picture on pinterest. Great idea.
NO MORE LOST DICE!
