1 1/4 C Butter
2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 C Flour
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 C Chopped Nuts (OPTIONAL)
3/4 C Hershey Cocoa Powder
Cream butter and sugar in a large mixer bowl. Add eggs and vanilla; blend well. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt; blend into creamed mixture. Stir in nuts if desired. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º 8-9 minutes. (Don't overbake. Cookies will be soft. They will puff during baking and flatten upon cooling.) Cool on cookie sheet about one minute, until set. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Notes: WE DO NOT PUT IN THE NUTS. My husband and his brothers use to make these as kids. We got the recipe from his mom but we assume sometime in history it came from Hershey
