Nerf Wars: Date Night From The Dating Divas
We pulled out our Nerf guns to be part of the centerpiece on our table and planned a great night consisting of three different games. The first game would require some sort of tag to keep track of how many times you were hit. The game I decided to use was much like the basketball game, “Horse”, where you keep track of letters when you miss. Only in Nerf Wars each time you are hit you would flip the letter and you would be out when you returned to the first letter again. Pretty easy and lots of fun.
Fruit and Spinach Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette
This strawberry, apple and pear spinach salad is easy, light and delicious. I've created a tasty mild strawberry poppyseed vinaigrette to go with it. This salad is loved by every palate; young and old. If you like a stronger vinaigrette, feel free to add more red wine vinegar. I've also tested this with cider vinegar and it worked well; although I liked the red wine vinegar a teensy bit more.
Chorizo Stuffed Peppers
Ingredients:
- 1 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1.25 cups yellow onion, chopped
- 2 cups zucchini, diced
- 1 cups kale, chopped
- 1 Tablespoons cilantro, chopped
- 1 Tablespoons paprika
- 2 Tablespoons cumin
- 1 teaspoons fennel seed

Find a working Gas Stove Cook Top at a garage sale, craigslist, Habitat for Humanity, thrift store, etc., and build your self one of these. I call it my e-prep, out door kitchen, canning kitchen DIY project. I found this picture on Pinterest with no link but I think it is self explanatory.
Emergency preparedness candle kits
For these kits you need a wide mouthed canning jar (with lid and ring) 4 candles (like the one in the pictures) you can find these at Wilderness survival gear online for .99 cents each but they go down in price if you buy them in bulk. They are 5″ x 1.5″ candles will burn for 8 to 10 hours. I made 5 jars – one for each level of my home then extra’s just in case.
How to Bake Bread on the Grill
Ingredients
Makes two large loaves
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups cool water
1 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cups unbleached bread flour
5 cups whole-wheat flour
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons honey
Additional bread flour for the work surface
Additional olive oil for the bowl
About 3/4 cup rolled oats for the outside coating
Medium-grind cornmeal for the cast iron pans
