Banana Split Trail Mix

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups banana chips
  • 1 cup broken cream-filled sugar wafer cookies
  • 3/4 cup walnut pieces
  • 1/2 cup yogurt-covered raisins
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chunks

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups banana chips, 1 cup broken cream-filled sugar wafer cookies, such as Nabisco, 3/4 cup walnut pieces, 1/2 cup yogurt-covered raisins, 1/2 cup dried cherries and 1/3 cup chocolate chunks.

Italian Slow Cooker Chicken

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

1/2 C Italian salad dressing

1 C chopped green bell peppers

1 C chopped onions

1 1/2 tsp chopped garlic

2 potatoes*, Peeled and cut in wedges

 

Combine all ingredients except the potatoes in a 1 gallon Ziploc Freezer bag.  Label and freeze.

 

To serve, thaw and pour the contents of the bag into slow cooker.  Cook on low for 7-8 hours.  **After 6 hours add the potato wedges.

Peppered Flank Steak

1/2 tsp chopped garlic

1 C vegetable oil

1/2 C white vinegar

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

2 tsp dry mustard

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 dash Tabasco sauce

2 pounds beef flank steak

 

Combine all the ingredients except the flank steak in a small bowl.  Put the flank steak in a labeled 1 gallon Ziploc Freezer bag, pour marinade around it, and freeze.

 

Bread Machine Buttermilk Rolls

3/4 C Buttermilk or Sour Milk*

1 egg

1/4 C butter, cut up

3 C bread flour

2 TBSP sugar

3/4 tsp. salt

1 tsp. active dry yeast or bread machine yeast

 

Add the ingredients to the bread machine according to the manufacturer's directions.  Select the dough cycle.  When the cycle is complete, remove dough and punch down.  Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.  Shape dough into basic rolls or cloverleaf rolls.

Big Batch Snickerdoodles

6 C all purpose flour

4 tsp. cream of tarter

2 tsp. baking soda

2 C butter or margarine (4 sticks), softened

2 2/3 C plus 1/2C sugar

4 large eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

3 tsp. ground cinnamon

 

Preheat oven to 375

In large bowl, mix flour, cram of tartar, and baking soda (I use a whisk)

In another bowl, beat butter and 2 2/3 C sugar (use mixer at medium) until light and fluffy.  Beat in eggs and vanilla. Reduce speed to low, beat in flour mixture until well blended.
